When people say just leave, do u just leave??

So my and my colleague were ranting how, in a more "orthodox" word, sh**ty the workplace systems can be. No wonder there are people who quit after few months, or in my case, an ex-colleague of mine quit after one month. Not going to expose which company I'm in or other companies that I find them desperate to oust some peoplebut rather just an honest thought that could lead up to such action by employees and ex-employees.

I even have friends who are venturing for a new job even though they are paid handsomely. If money isn't an issue, then what is?

Heres several reasons that people might quit their job:

1. Company pays you really well but you just don't resonate with the jobscope

2. Company pays u well but you received constant tantrums from your boss, or collegues, and gossipping

3. You received constant pressure and can't cope up with it

4. Your boss question every leave you have even though you have plausible reason for it

5. Your paycheck is given late every month without fail

All these reasons can lead up to numerous mental health problems, so if you feel like you can't comprehend anymore, people say just leave. But given the situation now, your commitment, especially post COVID, economy is still recovering, it's not easy to just quit and find new job afterwordsit's not as easy as changing your clothes. I heard stories from back to the old days, where people can pick whatever jobs they want, but now, even degree holder gets job as a cashier, not because they aren't qualified to work in their respective field, but the inability to secure in it. Let's face it, competent people are on the rise nowadays, you own a tudung store, there are hundreds of others doing the same thing. Same goes to other forms of business— you can create a business about XYZ and there are others doing the exact same, just tweaking here and there.

We definitely live in a capitalist world where those who are up above in their position gets to live lavishly and people who are on the normal wage of living and who are poorer can be on the brink of their financial breakdown yet, they are also being in a workplace where they don't enjoy. Financial + Mental meltdown Mental health and other health problems.

During COVID and PKP, news about suicidal was really heartbreaking, and there are pictures everywhere in social media—pictures of people hanging themselves, or purposely fall from the high storeys of building—and the stories got even sadder. Some lose their source of income, can't afford to support their family, those who are breadwinners basically.

As I sit here comfortably typing in my PC, I am definitely grateful albeit some predicaments I faced at work. Am i comfortbale with my job? Yes. But am I also looking for other opportunities out there? Absolutely. If we can go higher, we should. But part of me still has that mindset where even getting a job—no matter what kind of job is still a good thing rather than nothing. But if you can go higher, reach for the stars, go ahead. Until then, I hope everyone is happy with whatever job they are doing, also those who are owning small businesses, keep it up and may it prosper as long as you want it to be.
